Hellmich Violins

Love for Life

Violin Ernst Heinrich Roth

This high-quality violin, “Made in Germany,” was built in 1989 at Ernst Heinrich Roth’s workshop in Bubenreuth.

Since it was cherished by its previous owner and played frequently, it shows signs of wear; nevertheless, in terms of sound, it is an outstanding instrument from this traditional workshop.

Tradition

from Bubenreuth

If you want to know that your money is well spent and at the same time you are looking for a well-balanced sound, this violin is ideal for you, because Roth instruments are without exception stable in their value.

Due to the interaction of model and wood selection, this instrument guarantees an above-average sound.

Sound-producing body

This instrument features a particularly high-quality spruce top with a fine grain. It shows clear signs of wear, as its owner played it as his primary instrument for many years. The edge inlay is well-crafted, and the simple back wood is also beautifully highlighted by the highly transparent orange spirit-based oil varnish.

The instrument bears the standard serial number and the brand mark, which can be used to trace its origin.

As an admirer of “early music,” I have always been fascinated by the instruments of the respective era. That is why I had little interest in newly built instruments. However, Lisa Hellmich’s Amati-inspired model exceeded all my expectations.

I never would have expected a violin that practically still had its umbilical cord attached to have such an incredibly rich, full, and dark sound. Thank you for this experience, Lisa.

FAQ

Ordering Process

Not every love lasts forever, which is why we’re happy to accept instruments purchased from us as trade-ins and exchange them for a higher-quality model. If the instrument is in its original condition, 100% of the purchase price of the old instrument will be applied toward the new one. You’ll need the original receipt for this.

Commissioned instruments and accessories, as well as instruments from other categories (such as a violin versus a cello), are excluded.

It is normal for signs of wear to appear on cherished and frequently played string instruments—on the bridge, fingerboard, strings, and varnish. In the case of significant damage (cracks, chipped corners or edges, warping, or severe finish damage), as well as for instruments that are in very poor condition or have been modified by other luthiers (bridge, accessories, etc.), we may have to deduct a portion of the instrument’s price or may be unable to accept the return.

We will keep you informed about the progress of the repair and will complete it on time and reliably. During this time, we will be happy to provide you with a replacement instrument free of charge.

Consignment sales are generally possible, but we reserve the right to include only select string instruments in our online catalog. Criteria for inclusion include, for example, sales potential, condition, and price.

If you would like to consign an instrument, please send us photos and scans of any available certificates, as well as additional information (e.g., any damage). If the instrument is suitable for sale through Hellmichviolins, it will be personally inspected, and any necessary sound adjustments or repairs will be made in accordance with the workshop’s quality standards to ensure a smooth sale.

The fees for this service are not charged until the instrument is sold. The commission rate for consignment sales is 18%. We charge a flat fee of €150 for online listing, advertising, and handling the sale.

We accept all major payment methods (Visa, Mastercard, bank transfer, PayPal). Please note, however, that some of these may incur fees.

We accept payment in euros.
